Materials Excellence

Strategy, Efficiency and Expansion for Danish and German Plastics and Metal Working Companies in 2018-2019

In general, the Materials Excellence Project (MATEX) aims at improving cross-border and cross-sector cooperation between German and Danish SMEs for innovations and business activities in the polymer and metal working industries, in order to establish long-term innovation or business projects and to develop new markets.

MATEX  is part of the cluster initiatives Metall- and KunststoffDIALOG initiated by the Heilbronn Region Economic Development Corporation (Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH - WFG). It was funded with over 121.000 Euros by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the State of Baden-Württemberg. The project is designed to bring regional and Danish companies of the metal and polymer sectors together and to provide international exchange opportunities.

The WFG assumes the organization of all activities in Germany, while the Dansk Materiale Netværk (DMN) is accountable for all action in Denmark. Collectively, possible contents and components are developed and tailored to the requirements of the participants.

The approach of MATEX  is also based on important findings that had already been gained in the WFG project SEFEX (start 2016). Because of the proximity of the Heilbronn clusters to the DMN regarding the used materials, the WFG will surely find partners for upcoming projects in the DMN as well as its member companies.

The project addresses members of the Automotive, Metall and KunststoffDIALOG of the WFG Heilbronn, as well as members of the Alu, Staal and PlastNets of the DMN.

MATEX  offers workshops, seminars, company visits, a Critical Factor Analysis, technology and knowledge transfer as well as other cross-sector and inter-cluster activities that are mainly concerned with the topics wind power, offshore, automotive industry and mass production to the respective companies.
